Dear Nesamani 1983
Good Morning
Your statement goes, "I know that if Pr. diff across valve is high, then opening the valves is tough. But here, if pr. diff is high, valve opens smoothly. If pr is equal across the valve, then problem occurs.New phenomena...?" Which pressure difference you are...
Dear Duncan
thanks for the info on the difference between the two. I am hearing for the first time and that too from first hand exp, that chemicals affect the performance from mech separators. This is new to me, as I am involved in the revival of a unit which is not operated for a long time...
Dear Friends!!
Coming again for details sought after demulsifier, that is used for breaking the oil-in-water emulsion. Will not the regular demulsifier that breaks water-in-oil emulsion help? how they differ and what could be a standard dosage for improving hydrocyclone performance?
Thanks for...
Dear DuncanM & zdas04!
thanks for the info, let me check the doc as suggested, will come back if more details / understanding is required, further...
The package consists of 2 x 5000 BOPD of hydrocyclones and 1 x 10000 BOPD Fuel Gas induced de-oiler...
thanks again,

Dear Friends
I am working in a Oil Gathering center where hydrocyclone package (Petreco) was installed 5-6 years ago, but not utilised properly. The hydrocyclone and Deoiling vessel (Induced Gas Floatation Unit (Fuelgas)) are designed to handle, say 10000 BPD of oily water from a 3-ph separator...
Dear Chemicalengineerthai and BigInch!
Thanks for your replies. I would like to clarify on some points based on your replies.
1.We do not have "High Pressure Oil" based control in the system. We have a digital signal coming from the pressure transmitter that goes to the controller which gives...
Dear Friends!
Happy Morning!
We have two Reciprocating Compressor trains which are not working for the past two years, in our Gathering Centres. In this compressor train, i found one control logic that controls the pressure of Final Oil accumulator of the third stage (KOD)with the make up gas...
Dear Friends!
I am looking for flashpoint data of Crude Oils in Kuwait. This is asked for transport of crude oil samples by flight admin.
In the plant, though we have MSDS data, flash point is missed out in that. Can anybody throw some light on this?
Our API gravity remains in the range of...
Dear Friends!
I want to study the basics of hydrotesting of pipelines and equipments, like how pressure raises inside a pipeline filled up with water though water is incompressible...
Can you suggest some website to enlighten me in this regard,
thanks in advance,
yours truly,
A.Thirumaran
Dear All!
I would like to learn about the two phase transient flow calculations and simulations. I need the expert's opinion on where to start for the same.
Thanks for everything you do,
Cheers

Dear Petro0707!
I am A.Thirumaran. I am trying to make an excel calculator to size a shell and tube heat exchanger.
I would like to help you in your endaevor and also would like to learn from you too.
Please give me some specific details of say, nomograph or TEMA standards, so that I will be...
Dear All!
Can you please help me to understand Hot Pinch and Cold Pinch temperatures. What is the relation between them and the minimum hot-stream outlet temperature possible?
This doubt came to me in light of doing an exercise in Hysys, where I encountered temperature cross problem, and it...
Dear All!
Good Morning!
I have a doubt on aviation turbine fuel specifications.
We have a specification for the conductivity. The conductivity is to be maintained between the range 50 - 450 picosiemens / metre.
While I can understand that the lower range of conductivity is to ensure...
Dear all!
We have a merox reactor, which is used to make ATF.
I want to know what is peroxide number and how it is determined?
What is the significance other than potential gum formation?
Thanks for everything you do,
cheers

We vary the pressure by controlling the venting to Fuel Gas header.
I am talking of the total pressure of separator drum which decides the system pressure or reactor pressure.
cheers

yeah i meant separator drum pressure only. we do not have spillback suction pressure control.
one of my colleague suggested that at higher pressures, NHT reactions will be more severe and hence higher dense gas and hgher mass flow.
your inputs are welcome.
cheers

25362! NHT is the Naphtha Hydro Desulphurisation Unit prior to Reformer.
mbeychok!
Actually I was asking one of my junior colleague to post the question using my user id. There was a mis-communication. Sorry for that.
We have a centrifugal compressor for reformer recycle gas and reciprocating...
Hello All!
Let me explain the question a bit clearer..
In NHT, we have a reciprocating compressor to maintain recycle gas flow. It takes suctiion from the product separator, which is at a pressure of 28kg/cm2(g).
When we increase this pressure to say, 28.5 kg/cm2(g), we observe that the recycle...
