The repair kit is ASCo#: 302912.
I have 72 valves, half of which have been rebuilt within the last 3 years and are still not leaking. I can't measure the air loss but my guess would be 5 to 10 SCFM.
This valve is no longer supplied by ASCo, but they do supply a repair kit that works. After many years they slowly leak air from the supply to the exhaust plenums. Does anyone know specifically why? I am wondering if I can substitute say a viton o-ring in the repair kit and get longer life...
I want a gradual expansion fitting for the outlet of a PRV to reduce back pressure, 2" to 3" NPT. Swage nipples appear to have a large (>10°) included expansion angle. Another idea is an eccentric PVC reducing coupling. (I can use PVC for this.) Does anyone know:
1) Included angles on swage...
Snoop leak detection fluid costs $125.00 a gallon at working strength, Seamtest concentrate costs $0.15 a gallon when diluted to working strength. Does anyone know why? Snoop claims adherance to some specifications, Seamtest does not. Any advice about other fluids or home grown formulas...
Their argument would be that #2 is truly the low hanging fruit, and that the RPN distorts the priorities so you wind up working on items that are less truly urgent. My question is: Can the RPN calculation be restructured so it develops a more accurate priority list?
On FMEA's, I have concerns about the validity of the Risk Priority Number, determined by multiplying the Severity, Occurrence, and Detection (1-10) numbers. On http://www.quality-one.com/services/fmea.php a problem is presented:

I am looking for a way to have an alarm activate when my compressed air dryer fails. My thought is a simple float that actuates a switch when water accumulates in the bottom of a bowl. Anyone heard of a device like that or some other simple, foolproof method of detecting water in an air line?
Does anyone have any experience with this? I have 10 - 14 PSIG steam and three showers to feed, two of which could be flowing. Everything I find is big, complicated and expensive. Looking for a simple, efficient solution.
Thanks for all the helpful advice.
We have 2 Burnham E-50 1347 MBH steam boilers on alternate cycle. Steam pressure is 10 - 12 psi.
The galvanic aspect of stainless steel pipe might be superfluous since the steam is used on stainless steel chambers, four of them, about the size of a shipping...
We use process steam that cannot have chemicals in it because it humidifies medical products, but condense about 80% of our steam. The black iron condensate lines either get eaten from the inside or plug up with rust. We've replaced short runs with stainless steel with some success, but I...
One thing I would mention is to keep track of the difference between variable cost and fixed cost. The purchase price and installation are a fixed cost. You pay them even if you never use the machine for anything useful. Some maintenance might be fixed as well if it is a scheduled periodic...
What I've done is do the summary in a different workbook, with linked data, that is closed when I update the table. Close the table book and open the sumary book. The links will still be intact.
Try Hunt-Wilde Corp. They make vinyl and foam grips. Some of the vinyl ones have laminations that are soft and make for a sure grip. They are a manufacturer and like large orders, but you may find them or a distributor with some left over stock.
I want to be able to use "drag and drop" editing to move data in a spreadsheet, but I would like the formulas that access the data to pick the data from the same place.
The application is a project tooling budget by part and by month. When the schedule moves, I would like to simply...
Here's my beef with part numbers being completely distinct from drawing numbers. The connectivity of part number to drawing needs to be kept in two places, on the drawing and in the PDM (unless the drawing and the PDM are linked) and sometimes a third place, the MRP system. Having information...
I'm sure there are ways of putting an enclosure around the machine, but you need to provide adequate ventilation. The best way to quiet a compressor, however, is to move it out of there to a place where you can't hear it. Pipe is cheap, so placing your compressor near the work is false economy...
Interested in another approach? Instead of using "text to columns", make a new column with the following formula in it:
=MID(A1,FIND(" ",A1)+1,20)
Assuming your names are in column A, this finds the space in the name and uses text from that point on to fill the new column...
I used an acid core solder on large scale circuit boards. We were soldering 14 ga copper wire to the boards as well as a couple of components with 20 to 24 ga copper leads. The acid core solder wetted out very well, and we got good strong joints.
We washed the boards quickly (within an hour...
1) The expenditure must be for a THING that a tag can be applied to, identifying it as a capital asset. I believe intangibles such as software can be included provided it can be identified.
2) The thing must cost above a certain threshhold, $3000 in my complany. Spending $3000 for 20...
My first question is "Why do you want to know (the torque)?" The reason engineers specify torque + angle is that torque alone is a poor determinate of joint integrity, especially when approaching the yeild strength of the fastener, where the curve starts flattening out. If you simply...
