    Thanks everyone for your responses. Can you please elaborate how the pointy nose helps in launching? I can see how it helps to overcome obstructions by breaking them apart.

    Hello. Can somebody explain why foam pigs have a pointed nose at the end? Also, certain pigs have metal components in it (such as in articulated pigs or in the case of aluminum gauge plates). Is there not a possibility for these to be corroded by the process medium. Thank you in advance.
