Hi,
Solid elements have only translational degrees of freedom, so yes, you can't apply rotation on them.
Try adding some beams to the solid just to pass the rotation from the beams to the solid (beam with negligible stiffness). I have no idea although how good is my idea, but I can't get any...
Hi
Does anyone have an idea, if it is possible to restart an analysis from implicit to explicit. What I mean:
step 1 - initial
step 2 - apply gravity load - implicit
step 3 - apply general contact - explicit
The problem is that I want to have a general contact analysis (explicit), but I want...
Hi
Thanks for the reply. Yes, SPRING1 and SPRING2 have all 6 DOF, but can I use them in explicit analysis, because in the same chapter 27.1.1 Springs it is said that "SPRING1 and SPRING2 elements are available only in Abaqus/Standard".
I will try using "connector element type hinge or...
Hi
Does someone have an idea, is it possible to use springs with rotational stiffness in explicit analysis. I have looked at the help and I have found this:
The SPRINGA element is available in both Abaqus/Standard and Abaqus/Explicit. SPRINGA acts between two nodes, with its line of action...
Hi,
I am modeling a crash analysis of a car and a wall with Abaqus 6.8-1. For the car I am using Johnson-Cook material model and Johnson-Cook damage. The mesh of the car is from beams and shells. For the wall I am using Concrete damaged plasticity model. The wall is modeled with solid elements...
