I've got a cantilevered beam that has a bending moment on the free end and a downward load in the beam section. I have equations for the deflection for bending only and equations for loads only. To get a total deflection can I just add the two?
I am trying to determine how the inside radius of a rectangular tube effects the strength during a bending test.
My gut tells me that a larger inside radius would increase the strength because of the added cross sectional area (also second moment of area) and decrease of any stress...
