How would an encoder help to reduce the backlash in the system? I know encoders are used to control the position of the motor. I am still learning about how all these different types of motors work, so any insight is definately appreciated.
I am researching ways to control the elevation and azimuth position of an antenna with the highest accuracy as possible. I am considering stepper motors and brushless motors...is there anything else I have missed?
