    WTG Production losses & uncertainties

Would any of you know though, how to calculate the Resulting Standard deviation of production for years 5, 10, and 20? (Jpeg attached) Thank you for your help and advice. http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=fd9e8452-4a3a-4285-9619-a434b4e09277&file=standarddev.JPG...

    WTG Production losses & uncertainties

Thank you guys. I was able to put together a spreadsheet (excel) to calculate the losses, uncertainty and come up with the standard deviation, of course, after doing some research in some of the recommended websites.

Wind Turbine Generator - Loss & Uncertainty

Thank you metengr. Are you implying I am lazy? JK :-) I am actually trying to understand the math behind the calculations. I got the theory already from some of the links you posted in fact. Created the spreadsheet attached now trying to make sense of the numbers.

Wind Turbine Generator - Loss & Uncertainty

Sorry for crossposting, I was just wondering if anybody could help me out with a good source of reference or literature on the subject of Production losses and uncertainty calculations for a Wind Turbine Generator (600 kW) Also, trying to find information on how to calculate P90 values...

    WTG Production losses & uncertainties

Does anybody have a spreadsheet (excel) to calculate the total loss and uncertainty for a wind turbine generator? I have been trying to figure out how to create my own using some online references but seem to be getting nowhere with it. Thanks guys!.

Importing Hydrocad v. 3.01 - Peak flows inconsistent

Thanks for your help. In the original printed report (MS DOS based), they accounted for Exfiltration = 1 CFS. When I imported the old file into v8.5, the exfiltration was included as Base Flow: -1.00 in the Advanced Tab of the Edit Pond dialog box. I changed that to zero and Qin=1.6 for the...

Importing Hydrocad v. 3.01 - Peak flows inconsistent

Hello, I imported a Hydrocad file from version 3.01 (1994) into my current Hydrocad version 8.5, and the peak inflows (Q) for a Proposed Pond, went from 1.6 cfs (original report) to 0.64 cfs. I have checked for any possible errors in the Subcatchment areas, CN's, Tc's, rainfall depth for the...

    Road Profile - Vertical Curves

Hi jeremyk55, Yes, I can choose the entrance and exit grades. Thanks for responding. Do you know where can get the spreadsheet with the vertical curve equations?

    Road Profile - Vertical Curves

Knowing the location (station) and elevation of my High and Low Points on the centerline of a road, how can I calculate the station and elevation of PVI. The desired curve length is 50'.

    Detention Pond Outflow Pipes

Hello all: I need some help with designing the outflow pipes of a detention pond. The situation is that the pond has two outflow pipes draining into two different wetland systems. I am used to designing just 1 outflow pipe and an emergency spillway, this pond has 2 pipes and 1 emergency...

    Sewer force main horizontal clearance

I am designing the pipe layout of a sewer force main that runs parallel to an existing gravity sewer. I found out that there has to be a 10' clearance between the force main and a water main but what about the horizontal clearance between the new force main pipe and the existing gravity sewer...

    Detention Basin Discharge Pipe Size

Is there any quick way to determine the size of a pipe that will be used as a discharge control (discharge pipe) for a detention basin? Pre-development qo = 36 cfs, Post-Development qi = 77 cfs The Storage Volume of the detention basin from TR-55 Vs = Vr (Vs/Vr) = 80,000 cu. ft. = 1.84 ac-ft...

Sizing and Grading a Detention Basin

After calculating peak outflow discharges for existing and developed conditions using the TR-55 Tabular Method and figuring out the Storage Volume, I need to desing a basin that will hold 80,000 c.u.ft of runoff. I would like to know if there is any good literature (online or books) I can read...

    Rational Method Q vs TR-55 Q Results

cool! I am from the North Shore but have been to Springfield for work and know Waltham and Weston very well. I haven't been to Pittsfield yet. Where are you located now? I didn't use the Tabular method cuz I understood is more for subareas draining into a bigger area??? The whole story is...

    Rational Method Q vs TR-55 Q Results

Thanks ngneer and Iha for your help. Iha I read one of your replies to one of my previous posts and I understand you used to live in New England? cool huh? The soil conditions I am assuming are Hydrologic soil B, good condition with a grass cover > 75%. So that gives me a CN = 61 from Table 2-2a...

    Rational Method Q vs TR-55 Q Results

I am trying to calculate runoff using the TR-55 Graphical Method for a 5.48 ac area. I used Type III Rainfall Distribution for a 2-years/24 hrs rainfall that gives me a rainfall P = 3.2 in, I also used a CN of 61 and a time of concentration Tc = .24 hr (.14 sheet flow and .10 shallow...

Rational Method - Runoff Coeficient - Newbie

Hey guys: I would like to know where can I find a step-by-step procedure to calculate peak runoff and volume of a 8.2 Acre site. I am using the Rational Formula Q=CiA, I know the Area "A", and the type of coverage that is gravel so I would like to know what runoff coeficient "C" should I use for...

    Help! I'm Sick of CAD.

Thank you buzzp I followed your advice and talked to my boss and a month ago I quit my last job as a CAD drafter. I don't have anything against CAD drafters, I was just tired of being referred as "one of our CAD drafters" in my last job when I knew I was more competent than some of the engineers...
