    metengr, Thanks for your comments. That means we can not reach a conclusion just based on the radial ridges, right? When I saw the radial ridges, I thought they may suggest fatigue related failure.

    Hydro test for dissimilar weld

    How to determine the hydro test pressure of a dissimilar welded pipe system (carbon steel to 2.25Cr-1Mo). According to ASME B31.3, the test preussre can be determined by Pt=1.5*P*St/S. Now we have two values for the hydro test. Which one we should use, the lower one or the higher one? Thanks.

    Maximum Operating is 440 DegC. Looks like 304 should not be used, right? Do I need to specify that 321SS should be stabilized? How about the solution treated 321SS?
