I am trying to make a basic User Defined Feature that measures the angle of two lines. I am able to make the UDF but I cannot get the measurement angle to be included in on it. Is there away that I can get this angle to be put in with the UDF?
I am having the same problem with linking. I get the link refused by document error as well. The exception is that I am relinking between 2 catparts. Is there special "rules" that allow you to link or relink? I have read that you can't use generative views to do it, among other things.
I am trying to do to bevel gears meshing with movement in Unigraphics NX3. I'm starting out with doing 2 cylinders with an angled edge to get my diameters right etc. My boss wants to see it in motion. We don't have the motion license, but I can still do the vary constraints and it will move...
I am using UG NX3 and my company uses .cgm files when we realease drawings. How do create a multipage .cgm file? I know that it can be done because we receive them that way from our suppliers.
Is there anyway that you can do an update on a drawing that uses a saved view? For example I create a view in Modeler. Go to drawing insert that view. Then I decide it's not the right angle for the view so change the view and save it over the previous one. Now when I go back to the drawing I...
This is an assembly. The complexity could be a problem your right. But I have seen this on less complex part. The type of part that it is happening to is a sheetmetal part with a couple bends in it, in the shape of a handle.
I am currently using Unigraphics NX3 and am having difficulty with missing lines in views of my drawings. Occasionally when I put a view in it is missing lines that should be there to show an edge. I have tried messing around with the view settings (extracted edges, UV Grid, Virtual...
That is about 1/2 of what I'm looking for. I want the symbol to be associated to the dimension. That way the dimension is associated witht the view, and the symbol to the dimension.
Does anyone know of anywhere that I download a third party program for Unigraphics NX3 for free? I am looking for something that attaches custom symbols to dimensions, I have figured out how to create the custom symbol, it's just not associated with the dimension. Instead it is it's own free...
I'm kind of confused, I'm not sure where to start with drawing it. I have put in my root dia., pitch circle, base dia., and outside dia. But I'm not sure on how to put the flank and face radii on the tooth by using the base and pitch circles.
I have very basic question for you guys. I am creating a internal metric gear with a Diametral Pitch of 19, number of teeth is 16, and Pressure angle of 37.5. I have all the numbers crunched I just don't have any direction of how to draw the profile of the teeth. I can't figure out the flank...
I am using NX2. I have tried that, but it doesn't change the reference line color. I am able to change the line font and width without a problem and it actually changes the line. Do I need to put it on a different layer?
Can anyone help me find some of the settings for colors? I know that you go to Preferences->Visualizations, but I don't know from there. For example, I am looking to change the color of a reference line in a sketch from gray to yellow. Or the color that dimensions are displayed in sketcher...
Is there an easy way to make an involute curve for a gear tooth? I am having one heck of a time figuring out formulas for a gear tooth in metric. Does anyone have the formulas in a file that they could send me? Also whats the easiest way to create this in UG NX2?
Thanks for the help.
How exactly do I make a line "reference"? Is it a specific type of line? For example, do I need to do some kind of edit properties on the line, or something like that.
Thanks, a lot for the help.
How do I do it? Also is there anyway that I could get the help files? They aren't installed correctly on this machine, and I have tons of stuff that I would like to look up how to do?
Is there a way to use a type of "construction" line in UG NX2? I have just started using it and I was working on Pro-E Wildfire 2 where you use a sketcher with added commands (extrude, revolve, sweep, etc.). In Wildfire you can use construction lines in your sketches so that you have something...
Thanks, for all the help. It worked great. My next question is about adding the countersink and couterbore to the note. I can get it to put a counterbore in the note. But when there isn't a cbore it still shows the symbol. How do I get it to recognize if there is/isn't a cbore, or csink? Also...
I have a question about hole notes. I would like to change the default format that Wildfire 2 puts hole notes in. I know that you have to change it in the .hol files, but I don't know what to put in there. Also is there a config option that I need to change in order for it to read it correctly...
