C2it,
I donot want to follow App.2, some of the flanges can not meet the App.2 requirements.ASME B16.5 flanges are ok based on the Pressure-temp. only to check the loads I'm looking for the proper approach.
Thanks
Hi All,
In order to check the flanges of the piping system I use the Pressure Equivalent method(concerning leakage). Now I face a problem: Since the margine between the design pressure(19barg) and working pressure of flange 150#(19.6barg @50C) is low most of the flanges have been failed. If i try...
Hi All,
In Api 650, the min. required thk. for nozzles are specified. I do not know if the corrosion allowance has been applied to the mentioned thicknesses because the specified thicknesses are high. please let me know if the C.A is specified by the purchaser it must be added to the thk. which...
Dear All,
I have some tall towers(h=70m, OD=7.8m) which i applied vortex shedding to design the tower and the anchor bolts.Recently our client infromed us which the towers will be installed and erected in site for a long period(6 months) without any attached accessories such as platform. so i...
Dear All,
Please let me know what is the tolerance ( misalignment ) for two flanges joint together by stud bolts as per any standard.
Thanks in advance
Dear All,
To design one vessel our client asked us to perform wrc for designed tailing lug(normally we design according to Bednar )is it required to check with wrc also?
please let me know your opinion

Dear All,
Per ASME VIII-div2, principal stresses for cylindrical and spherical shell are specified(4-221,4-321). please let me know if I may use the formulas mentioned for spherical shell (4-321)to specify the principal stresses of ellipsoidal head.
Thanks in advance
Dear Fawkes,
In En1092, e.g for CS material(P245GH)PN is specified based on Temp-Pressure. Actually I have nozzle based on DIN(PN63 rating)but the nozzle load specification is based on ASME flange rating(150#,300#,...)so i need to find an equivalent for PN63 or PN100
Thanks
Hi All,
Does someone know any reference regarding Pressure numbers (PN)for EN flange(En 1092) compare to ASME flange class designations?e.g what is equivalent rating in ASME flange compare to PN63?
Thanks in advance
Dear All,
I face a question about welding(our weld specialist is in vacation), in one vessel(2.25Cr1Mo)we have some coupling for thermo wells, the thermo wells material is Incoloy800, I'm not sure if the welding between 2.25Cr1Mo(SA182-F22) and Incoloy 800 is possible or some special...
Dear All,
please let me know, the mimum applicable working temperature for P-265GH and P-245GH.is it possible to use them for -20C temperature? (thk.<16mm)
Thanks in advance
Hi All,
Regarding WRC calculation i have a question: please consider a 4" nozzle on a vessel including 4"pipe attached to shell, 4x2 reducer and 2" flange. To check the WRC for this nozzle should i consider the allowable nozzle load applicable for 2" size or 4"?
Thanks in advance
Dear All,
I have a vessel (12")with body flanges I selected the flange acc. ASME B16.5(Temp-Pres.)but our client asked me to perform flange calculation acc. ASME VIII-App.2!! I specified standard flanges acc.B16.5 so i do not see any requirement to follow App.2
please let me know your opinion...
Dear All,
for our pipeline project the client insist using seamless instead of welded(12" API-5LX60 100barg=design pressure)is there any requirements or criteria for using seamless pipe regarding pressure or size?
Thanks in Advance
Dear All,
I have a question regarding pipeline with pigging system. The pipe thickness is caculated is lower than the thickness of equal Tee(half percent) For pigging the ID of pipe and Tee should be same, normally whats the solution? I guess increasing thickness of pipe(same as Tee) is not good...
Hi all,
