Thank you @cowski.
I have not tried projecting them. What I have been doing is wrapping the curves around an OD cylinder and an ID cylinder. Then I create ruled surfaces between each of the curve segments between the OD and ID. Then Sew the surfaces and trim/split the solid. It works but is...
Thank you, sounds like a great option, unfortunately we seem to need an additional license for Studio Free Form. I would happily buy the additional license but we have not been able to get good support from the company where we bought our seat of NX. https://www.indx.com/
Thanks you, No, Emboss doesn't seem to work because the emboss direction is fixed and the geometry really needs to wrap around the object unless there is another option within emboss that I am not familiar...
Hi Dave,
The inner "cage" serves 2 purposes. 1), It keeps the lights from sitting directly on the outer shell because it looks weird if they do and 2), It adds material to the center at the top of the balloon to help it print, otherwise the printer can have trouble bridging that full gap...
Thanks Dave, I have looked at Blender before and there seems to be some good tutorials on YouTube for it. Between NX, SW, F360, Hypermill, Esprit, I'm having a hard time getting motivated to learn another design package. I must be getting old.
Hello all.
I am currently running version 1915. I am working on a project for 3D printing and I need to break my balloon model into separate solids where each solid represents a piece of the balloon. In this example I have the logo for the US Marines. I have the artwork of this logo as a...
I recently updated NX7 to 1915. I am working in am assembly and wanted to Wave link some geometry from one part in the assembly to another part. I can't find the menu for it anywhere.
I have done some searching in this forum and have found a number of other related posts. The point alignment is ok but is not available if using through curve mesh. I think probably the best option here might be to only construct 1/2 of the "tube" at a time instead of having each section closed.
Here is an example image of the trouble we are having ...

When using through curves or through curve mesh is there a way to align the start points of sketches or curves.
I find that when we are lofting using sketches or curves if there are different numbers of elements in the sections or if the start points of the curves are not aligned properly you...
Edit -> Annotation -> Text is correct but you have to pick it from the menu on the application tool bar. You cannot pick it from the right click menu. I did the same thing along with several others ...
