Turn off the names of the dimensions in a sketch?

Yes I have played with fixed text height. My problem is that every day all day I have to use Solidworks, Catia V5, and NX 7.5. Catia and Solidworks do have names for dimensions but it isn't displayed in front of the dim. If you want to know the dim name you just check the property of the...

Turn off the names of the dimensions in a sketch?

New 7.5 user here. I have a sketch with 100 dimensions in it and they all have the name of the dimension in front of it. Example = p280=6 I just want it to say 6 instead of cluttering up my screen with the p280= garbage. Thanks in advance!

    Dimensions Double in Drafting

My catia V5 is now doing this ugh.. Its only showing 1 arrow in a dimension and the dimension is double what it is supposed to read. I have a view that is 2:1 and when I put a dimension on it, it looks like this (I circled the dim in red) The dim should read 24.05 and have 2 arrowheads of...

sorry for calling it stupid blocks haha.. perhaps my recent working in SDRCideas/Catia/NX5 has me frustrated. Happy to be back in SW (till I have to go back to the others of course)

Gray box in SW explorer covering what I need to click

There is a gray box over where I need to click in solidworks explorer. SW 2009 SP 4.1 Windows 7 x64 Anyone seen this before? I rebooted and it won't go away. All I want to do is add a new folder to the search folders in solidworks explorer.

    Just started I-deas from Solidworks

I set 0 from the center of my part and located some features with ordinate dimensions. I then added a feature and want to add it to my ordinate dimensions (dimension set). The only way I figured out how to do it was, start a new dimension set and locate my component, then delete the 0.

Question - Ordinate dimensions on a drawing. I used them but I missed something. How can I add it to my dimension set?

    Just started I-deas from Solidworks

Whoops.. forgot to answer what a dowel pin symbol was.. http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=135587&page=9 Of course in SW it is one click http://www.kxcad.net/SolidWorks/SolidWorks_Online_User_Guide/detailing/hidd_dve_dowel.htm I just had to make sketches and fill in the sketch in...

    Just started I-deas from Solidworks

Thanks SDETERS! I-deas history tree sucks. It is just unlabeled dots. SW has a feature history tree that is just a click to "roll back" and they are all easily labeled and expanded with a + sign like normal windows formatting. When SW tree gets more than 100 steps it is hard to find your way...

    Just started I-deas from Solidworks

^ That preloaded data is identical to the machinery handbook, thats where it came from. Even press/slip fits (H7 and so on) are automatic. Another day... more questions :) 1. Tapped holes in my drawing. They look like normal holes. Do I have to manually sketch in the dotted center lines for...

    Just started I-deas from Solidworks

I am putting holes in ideas for a C'bore 1/4-20 SHCS. I SW I am used to just clicking hole wizard, 1/4-20 SHCS c'bore, DONE. In I-deas it seems that I have to look up the numbers in machinery handbook and cut them into the part with features. Next thing I know I will be using word perfect or...

    Just started I-deas from Solidworks

^ Yep that worked thanks. I am in NX I-deas 5 m3 - C3P 13.3 whatever all that means. When I said move the part, I ment as in dragging it across the screen. I-deas has this icon to move, rotate, drag.. I am used to rotating my assembly and parts with the space ball or just the buttons on the...

    Just started I-deas from Solidworks

^ Thanks. I am trying to use the dynamic clip thing but I can't get it to slide thru the part. Can I only slice it on a plane? Right now it cuts thru my assembly 20% of the way thru but I want to drag it thru the assembly and watch it. As far as the cylinder mate goes I am used to being able...
