As Anna said, you need to order the correct machine online. You're going to want a minimum of 8gb of RAM and an approved graphics card. You'll be wasting money otherwise, not just on the computer but on lost time while you struggle to complete projects.

Have to ask the standard question: have you run SolidWorks Rx to see if there are any conflicts? From what you're describing, I'd say your graphics driver needs to be changed.

Take a look at limit mates to control how far you can move the handles. That should, at least, help to lessen the frequency of the handles flipping like that.

drawoh - I suspect his school is supplying the seat, so it's zero cost to the OP.
OP - as durablack2 says, you'll probably have graphics issues and could experience more crashes. On some laptops, you can swap out the graphics cards but you'll need to talk to the manufacturer to find out.

The only issue I see is that SolidWorks may have problems running properly where the computer you've picked out doesn't have an approved graphics card. You might want to take a look at ebay for used workstations.
