Who can help me?
Look at the following formulas
v = (354 * Q)/ DN^2 then Q = (v * DN^2) / 354
t = (5157 * Q ) / (DN^2 * dP)
Added those formulas together i get;
t = (14.56 * v)/ dP
For liquids v is aprrox. 5m/s
So the valve size is not a factor in closing time, only pressure?!? So the...
Hello to you all,
I know the dimensions for flat head, 'double d'. I use standard ISO EN 5211. But what can i use for machining 'single' flat head?
Is just the same as ISO EN 5211 and only machine one side at the stem / shaft?
Who can help?

My question:
I need to registrate opening- and closing times according to EN161. Can i do it without appling a working pressure to the valve? In other words, can i test it 'dry'.
many thank in forward!
anegri,
The packing set was something i remebered from a seminar in 2005. It is BURGMANN for sure.
I looked it up.
T= 400°C, 40 bar, 1000cycles, 9650 T2
Set containing:
2 endrings made of graphite thread
2 rings made of pressed graphite
1 middle ring made of fiberglass with a special...
Use certified gland packings
for example, tested in Stuttgart (VDI/VDE2440 / EN15848);
40 bar, 200°C, 1000 cycles - Burgermann 9650 T1
Even beter is gland packing set Burgermann 9650 T2 or T3
(9650 T3, 40 bar, 400°C, 1000 cycles)
Maybe you can use this info!
Also look into gasket materials. Garlock tandem spiral wound gaskets. The are specially used fire safe applications

Firmino,
My experience is SwRI is best choice. One test according to API607 will cost about $3000,- Score is 3 times more expensive. The only thing i had to add was the transport costs, but still cheaper. SwRI is a certified institute and ABS will except the report without witnessing the actual...
