It is hard to defending the St. Lucie project. They will most likely run out of money before the plant is ready to run. You can imagine the rage to think that someone would dare try to do what they are doing and call it engineering.
Let's look at the technology an see if it can be engineered...
One more thing. All of my experience has been theoretical. I have been using this program for the last 5 yrs. and am curious how it relates to actual real processes. Please provide some feedback on how this compares with your steam generator and condenser. I am a firm believer in modeling when...
I have attached a gatecycle analysis for your project that you may be interested in.

What you are looking for is a steam condenser. Look up some designs. Typically you need a cooling media like air or better water. The steam should come into a vessel and pass over coils with water flowing through them. Ambient air with no circulation will not be effective in cooling. According...
You could burn H2 directly in a gas turbine if you could find a GT manufacture who would design the combustor for you. H2 gas has a lower heat value of just over 300 btu/scf. GE has large GT's with combustor designs that will work down to 135 btu/scf.
How much H2 gas do you have?
If any one is interested in MSW waste analysis a good source is the MSW FACTBOOK <http://www.p2pays.org/ref/03/02064.htm>
It contains an ultimate analysis of MSW.
The first time you run it you may have to tell it to open the file with TBook, it will be in your Factbook folder.
It also shows the...
Hey lets not make criticism without careful thought and aimed at a handy target for attack.
I am fairly new in this venue and would like to learn something.
I know that good engineering requires being critical of processes but does that include people. If so I would be glad to join in.
As for...

I would like to talk about it. I would like to get out of the box and see if plasma gasification could be a feasable engineerable technology.
Maybe we should start a new thread.
Typical MSW is approx 10 -12% inorganics, and up to 30% moisture, providing that the bulk organics like metal and concrete have been removed.
Typical waste has the ability to generate a megawatt per ton. This requires the following:
1. Typical MSW with no recycling i.e. plastic and paper...
That is correct. There are no more than a handful of combined cycle gas turbines that can operate on low btu syngas (CO & H2). They were developed because of the coal gasification industry. I should say that it was not so much that the turbine was developed but that the combustor was developed...
I would like to comment about the lack of understanding for a low BTU syngas to produce energy. Misunderstanding comes from ingnorance about modern gas turbines. Ge has developed the F Class turbines to be able to operated on sygas as low as 135 Btu/scf. They have succesfully operated these...
It occured to me that if all you want is a device to ignite your furnace you could save alot of headache trying to cludge something together from parts by buying a furnace ignition module. Most RV stores sell replacement parts for trailer and motorhome furnaces that have 12VDC ignition systems...
