Think i solved my own problem. I had to go into the view properties, and under the "Balloons" section select "Link balloon text to specified BOM" and then pick the BOM from the second sheet.

I am making a multi-sheet drawing for a large assembly. I am displaying only certain parts on each sheet. I tried creating a new BOM table on each sheet, and then displaying only the rows that are visible in the drawing view. The balloons on the first sheet display the correct item numbers...
hmmmm, i already have trailing zeroes set to show.
Of course the best way for me to handle this issue is to set up a design table, but my company is a little hesitant to use them.

Actually, setting the precision on the equation seems to have no effect whatsoever on the returned value. I tried setting one of the 3-place values to 2-place with no result.

I have a general table in a drawing, and one of the columns is populated by an equation in its cells. I want to show 3 decimal places in the value, which is important because it is a dimension of the part. I can set the decimal places to show when building the equation, but SW seems to chop...
That command only removes the menus temporarily- they reappear when i open another drawing, or close and open Autocad.

I installed SolidWorks 2009 last week, and it added some toolbars and menus to autocad 2004 - one is called SolidWorks and the other is called XchangeWorks. I'm not really interested in using them, I'd rather remove them because they slow down Acad's launch and the open time for every drawing...

Thanks again, CBL. Although this begs the question, what use does dimXpert have?

Usually at work the same engineer both models a part and then details it straight away. But sometimes there's a few days between, or the detailing is left to a different engineer or drafter. So i have been trying to use some dim Xpert dimensions in my parts to call attention to important...
okay, kyle. Thanks! I ordered the rows how i wanted then sorted by quantity (which are all 1) and SW renumbered the items. Still pretty goofy, but it worked.

is there a way to renumber the items in a cut list table? I have a table and i want to change the numbers for some items. I can drag rows up and down the table, but the item numbers follow with them.

It seems to work best when I click on the blue circle at the end of the dimension line. Clicking on the value itself usually brings up the white box.

aaaah! It came up once and i clicked away, and then i got the white box again. Now I can get the right box 1 out of 5 times. Is there some very specific part of the dimension you have to aim for?

um, I don't get a regular dimension box like that. I just get a bare white text box with the dimension value, no buttons.

I like how you can set dimensions in a sketch to equations, but how do you do it for the depth of a feature? Say i want to link the depth of an extrusion to one of the dimensions of the profile sketch. Solidworks only seems to accept a number in the "depth" text box.

SW just closes without any messages. I guess i'll send the RX zip file off to my VAR. The weird part is that i recently copied my system options to my coworker's machine, and his works fine.
Thanks,

this is just a band-aid, but i have made my animations with a 2-step process. For each movement, i first drag the part by hand 90% of the way to where it's supposed to go. Then i move the timeline down a touch and unsuppress the mate that brings the part to its exact location. This method has...
