The piles are used as under ground pipe support and meter station supports. The pointed ends are for easier driving and tip protection there are not filled or grouted.
The pile penetration at first is very fast and them slows to 40-50mm per minute and then even slower but never really stop...
Hi DRC1 and Zamdo
It is a hydauliclly driven vibratory hammer on an excavtor. The piles are just 6 inch pipe pile with a pointed end. The depth is about 4 meters to 6 meters or longer if needed the material is mainly clay to a soft sand stone or some times just clay or hard sand. I am looking...
I am trying to determine / calculate the capacity of a pile that is being installed with a hydraulic hammer attached to an excavator. The hydraulic hammer has
a manufactures power rating of 3577 Joules operating at 320 to 600 hammer blows per min. the operator is pushing down on the hydraulic...
I design under ground pipelines and ANCHOR BLOCK are bad. You can model an anchor block as a line stop by using equlivent areas rule and the horz. pipe spring constants. However, the better soluation and more cost effect is let the pipe move by adding a jog in the line with two elbows.
Michael
I had a 45deg slope with layers of clay on top of bentinite layer on top of coal seams. We installed two 6 inch colverts into the side of the slope below that bentinite layer about 100 meters into the slope. Well the slope has stoped moving even with the one meter of rain we had in Alberta last...
I am currently using ANSYS for some pipe stress. I am trying to use PIPE elements but ended up going to SHELL elements because of the short comming of ANSYS PIPE elements. However, with SHELL elements our model is a monster. These are the problem that I am having:
(1) There is no way to turn...
I have used resin with a silica filler for hand lay up, winding, compression molding and other forms of manufacturing. What I have found that silica as a filler does not overly effect the static mechanical properties of the structure. (- 10% or so). However, under cyclic loading there is a big...
An idea got passed across my desk. I thought I would put it out there just in case someone may know some thing about long distance steam pipe lines.
I am looking for any information about engineering a steam pipe line from a steam plant to a town 50 km away. I am not sure of the engineering...
here is the problem I have data like so (see below) in length and hight and I need to plot this data in a line chart where the Y-Axis is scaled to the X-Axis. Such that if the X-Axis's scaled to 10meters per inch on paper that the Y-Axis's is scaled to 10meters per inch on paper. Thus one can...
I am in VB and trying to run the following using the excel function hlookup
Range("A12").Value = Application.HLookup(1, "H12:EZ12", 1, True)
but my out put is
Range("A12").Value = error 2015
can any one see what is wrong. I am at the end on my rope I am not...
I want to delete blanks row in a file that I am reading in so I check for blank cells. I then try to slect the row by the row number. this is where it hangs up.
CURRENT_ROW = 7
Rows("CURRENT_ROW:CURRENT_ROW").Select <= hangs up
because I know that
Rows("7:7").select...

I was woundering if there is a good book on how to write a CNC program, which will take G-Code to develop control movements. (i.e. like the machine control used in CNC mills)

Peternz, It would be great to have a look at your oscillator circuits for piezo transducers as in ultrasoniccleaners. thanks
<gmartens@telusplanet.net>
O.K. This is how it goes. The ultransonic transducers are used in a chem. cracking process. The entire process is under the control of a few PLCs which in this case must control the driving frequency (resonant frequency to about 200kHz), a sweept frequency (10 kHz to 1mHz) and different...
