    PE licence

Planedr, I know exams will be ok, as average engineer passed this trauma with 10 subjects/year and about 100-200 pages/subject (closed book). But my point is if you see elective subjects, they are no way diffrent than what we already studied.Height is for most of the subjects, I can...

    PE licence

Keep in mind that each association makes its own decisions and a license is quickly and easily transferable from one association to another. Thats fine, my intention is P Engg, however they asked me to appeal for the decision if not agreed, that itself shows there is option to appeal. I want to...

    Fin Fan Coolers Pitch Control

Askme, This is very useful control to reduce power consumption, infact many of finfan cooler in petrochemical company employed this with substantial reduction in power consumption.i have seen reduction in motor horsepower by 20% by keeping pitch closed as against fully open. But this depends...

    EBPR (phosphorus removal) Experience

Hi lamojai, Can u give more information, which type of reactor u have, ananerobic fermentation tank may be UASB reactor or UAFBR or it may be aanerobic tank without methane generation. For aerobic system C:N:P ratio is 100:5:1 whereas for anaerobic system this ratio varies from 600:5:1(...

How to prevent solids build-up in a dryer?

We had same problem of cake formation on the wall of the tumbling dryer leading to depoists on the wall. but its jacketed dryer, so by incresing temperature of jacket fluid, this problem soved upto certain extent

    Dryer problem

Do anybody help in finding software for determining time required for drying ? Actually I had seen on-line calculator for determining time required for constant rate drying for solid material with 10-20% moisture content. Its easy to caculate from the formula given from engineering hand book...

    Challange to treat industrial ww

Thanks Milton, But my concern is if we can treat by activated sludge treatment process. Nitrifiers are slow growing bacteria, that converts NH4-N into NO3-N. and if sludge wastage rate is minumum,i.e SRT is infinitive, can we get ride of NH4-N. I am doubtful as COD< 100 mg/l. Please respond

    Challange to treat industrial ww

Hi there, We are facing problem of very high NH4-N concentration in our effluent stream from chemical plant. On the contrary, there is no organic carbon source in the waste stream. If we gonna implement activated sludge treatment process, we need to add external carbon source and thats...

Oily Water Separation On Board Ships.

I read separion of oli and water by CPI that is corrugated plate interceptor. This is very effective method where oil separates at top which can be scimmed off and oil free water can be further treated by bilogical treatment method. The oliy water to CPI comes from underflow-overflow...

    LOWER SLUDGE VOLUME INDEX

I am treating industrial effluent by conventional treatment system Anaerobic-anoxic-oxic-clarifier. In the final aeration stage, SVI (a measure of sludge settleabiliy) remians very low about 30-40 ml/gm. can anyone explaine why it is so low. before implementing anoxic stage in anerobic -aerobic...

    COD reduction

imans, bmir is right and its very effective solution to remove COD by activated sludge treatment stage. you can easily innoculaye seed in your system by having sludge from nearby municipal wastewater treatment plant. some municipal plants may have very good growth of nitrifiers, so that u can...
