Hi All,
I came across this website (voltreepower.com) and these guys are using the pH difference between the tree and the Soil to generate enough power to essentially run “a network of fire alarms”.
This got me wondering, are there any industrial applications to this, for example in a waste...
After doing an exhaustive search on Google, I though I'd ask you guys.
I'm looking for a IR temp sensor that can easily connect to a pc, by either rs-232 or usb. If you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it v. much!
Thanks!.
I have a 4" circular window that looks down at wood chips and measures some properties. Over time, there is dust build (dry) that blocks the window.
Could an air knive work for this sort of app? It would have to be a PLC controlled ON/OFF Air flow.
If anyone has experience or knows any...
REPLYto all questions:
Track is 35 feet in diameter.
Multi-cast. Full Duplex.
Possible threats...the usual wireless issues.
Budget...can pay for sophistication.
Just to follow up on my last question, (http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=179647&page=1),
Are there any secure(relatively speaking) & broadband, fast means of transfering ethernet data wirelessly.
Short description of my application :
I’m working on a project that involves the transfer...
In a leaky coax cable what is the function of the "messenger wire"?
From what I can gather, here's my take on how this lcx cable functions. Data is transfered at a high speeds, a string of 1s and 0s create an electromagnetic wave that is used by some receiver device to perform some function...
I’m working on a project that involves the transfer of data (Control signals) to a number of moving targets on a track; this will be an Ethernet network.
Recently a co-worker suggested using “leaky coax-cables” to transfer the Ethernet data.
I admit to not knowing much about this, but a quick...
SK 500,
The track is completely circular. Just need the angular position (just along the circumference), the radius will be the same since it's a circle.
Approxiamate budget...cost is not an issue, as along as the system is sophisticated.
macgyvers200,
I think you mean an encoding rail along the track, yes you are right, thats what I want to do.
Accuracy that I require is 1" - 1/4" ! , but let's just say 1/4" to be conservative.
Do you know of a company who does that IF sensors.
Hello,
I am doing some product sourcing work for a company. I need to find a solution to an engineering task relating to linear positioning sensing.
I have circular track with a 100 foot circumference on a horizontal plane. There are motorized carts that travel around it, each cart’s movement...
