    So after trying the ALT+0248 in notepad I got the PHI symbol ... copy-pasted it in SE and it works ... I tryed changing the SE font to Arial ... now I get a strange "r" ... then tried Times New Roman ... same thing ... Can I load the exact Notepad Arial font into SE ? Would this solve my...

    I am using a version that works on win7 x64. Yes, it works in OpenOffice writer, but if I copy-paste it then it writes "Standard?" instead of the "PHI" symbol. What do you mean by "right font" ? Thanks for the reply :)

    I still get the square ... :( It has to be something to do with windows 7 64bit. I have it running perfectly on windows XP. I posted this problem also on a windows 7 forum and I'm still waiting for a response from them.

    Hi, I have a problem typing in the "Phi" symbol using the ASCII shorcuts. This started to happen ever since a switched to win7 pro 64bit. I use "±" - ALT+0177; "°"- ALT+0176 and ALT+0248 for the greek "Phi", but in this case it doesnt work ... it types in an empty square. Any clues in what...
