Some times plastics threads make a squeaking sound when unthreaded. If the material can not be changed for the application, can this problem be addressed with a different thread design (pitch to diameter ratio, thread section profile, etc…)?
I have to specify a thread in a plastic container with lid, the container will have an o-ring and is intended to hold 1 liter of water. The diameter is approximately 110.00 mm and the pitch should be about 10 mm. I am looking for a standard specification for the thread tooth cross section...

Thank you for your reply. We do not use Teamcenter. One more question. Does NX provides predefined attributes like page number, drawing scale, date, etc…
I will like to set up attributes in my model that would automatically populate the drawing title-block for things like drawn by, date, etc. We do not use the master model concept, so the model and the drawings are on the same file. We are currently using NX3.

That seems to be the case, but if the receiving party have JT2GO loaded, they are better off opening the .jt file in JT2GO instead of PowerPoint (more functionality). I do not see the benefit of sending someone a .jt file embedded in PowerPoint, if they need JT2GO loaded anyway. Thank...
If I drag and drop a .jt file to a PowerPoint document, and email this file to someone, which have Microsoft Office but not JT2Go, would they be able to open the PowerPoint document, and pan, zoom or rotate the .jt model?
...realize pattern face was available in NX2. I think I created your part. I can email it to you.
The first feature is a block of dimensions x=100+n*2, y=100+n, z=5.
Second, a sketch on the top face of the block of a rectangle, 3 sides are at a distance equal to n from the edges, the width...
Has any one read the book “Computer Aided Design with Unigraphics NX3: Engineering Design in Computer Integrated Design and Manufacturing” by H Felix Lee and David Fulton (ISBN: 0-7575-2196-7)?
If you have read it, what is your opinion?
Can you compare it to "Practical Unigraphics NX3...

I do not mean a non-manifold part. I am trying to create a surface and then thicken it.

I will try to explain better bellow.

I tried a Studio Surface 1x2 and a Through Curve Mesh (with the first Primary String being a point). Since in both cases the...
I am looking for suggestions on how to create 3 sided surfaces. What commands I could try? Any special technique or procedure I should look into? Thank you in advance.
Here is another example. Unassigned layers can be used for anything.
5 PARTING-LINE
9 APPROVAL-STAMP
10 DIMENSIONS, DRAWING, NOTES
11 SURFACE-FINISHES
12 PRODUCT-MARKINGS
14 DATUM-PLANES-AND-AXIS
20 SOLID-BODY
30 BORDER
31-80 CURVES
81-130 SKETCHES
131-159 SURFACES
I am providing a supplier with IGES files exported from NX2; the supplier is importing the files into Rhino 3.0. He is able to open the files, but the surfaces do not maintain their tangent continuity. Is there any set up I can change from my side to increase the chances of the supplier...

Why 6 hinges and not just 1 long one?
That is a very interesting suggestion. However, in my case, I am going to use the Array later on a Boolean operation in a solid body. I am not allowed to use WAVE. So, I don’t think I can use your suggestion.
