Hello FEA way, I kind of figure out why.
My set is a node, so previously when I select stress/strain terms in history output, it doesn't have anything since stress/strain is element-based value. But when I select displacement terms in history output, it indeed writes to the input file!
Thanks...
Hello,
I used abaqus 6.13 GUI to request a history output2. And then when I write the inp file, the history output doesn't have anything I selected. Also, of course, when I run the job, the result doesn't have the history output2 as well.
A screenshot is attached. H-Output-1 is the default, and...
Hello FEA way,
Thanks, as for the load-mechanical-surface traction, I indeed could choose traction is defined whether per unit deformed area/undeformed area.
What about I just using the load-mechanical-pressure for the normal stress?? In editing the pressure dialogue, it doesn't specify whether...
...is 10N, original area is 5m2, orignal pressure is 2 Pa (10/5). After the deformation, deformed area is 4m2. Will the abaqus keep my force the same, so the pressure is 10/4=2.5 Pa. Or the abaqus will keep my pressure the same, so the pressure is still 2 Pa, resulting my force by 2*4=8N.
Thanks.
The stress in the global coordinate is denoted as solid.sz, solid.sx and etc.
I defined a coordinate system (sys2) in comsol. How to transform the stress in the global coordinate in the sys2?
I cannot use sys2 in the solid mechanics and choose sys2 in the linear elastic material because my...
Hello,
I want to know how to probe the value in the 1D plot in comsol. As for the 3D/2D plot, I can just click evaluation 3D anywhere in the figure and it will return me a value at that location (shown in the figure).
How could I probe value in the 1D plot anywhere by clicking the location in...
Hello FEA way,
When I define my material model that is Young's modulus is a function of the maximum stress.
The result says it's not converging.
However, it converges if I set a constant Young's modulus.
Do you have ideas where I should change in order for it to converge? It doesn't work if...
...the material model given is where Young's modulus is a function of the pressure. As for the map solid.pm to p, why it is not just test(p)*solid.pm (weighting function times force)? I don't know why it needs to be test(p)*(p-solid.pm)? To put it in the simple way, I am still confused what the...
Thanks, FEA way!
Do you have experience in modelling stress dependent elasticity in comsol?
My Young's modulus changes with stress. I defined a function for Young's modulus versus stress.
I tried to use weak contribution and auxiliary dependent variable to solve the problem with the circular...
Hello,
I am doing the same analysis in both abaqus and comsol, but they give me different result.
So I want to know whether the single mesh size is same in two softwares.
For example, I have total 35000 elements, how to check the length of the single element?
Thanks.
Thanks FEA way, it works for z component!
But what about I want to see the radial stress, sigma_rr?
I tried to use solid.sx*sys2.T11
But the result I got is incorrect.
Do you have any ideas where I did wrong?
Thanks a lot.
Hello FEA way,
It is also not correct. When I update solution, the original solid.sz solution changes. However, this stress tensor shouldn't change since it's correspond to the global coordinate stress tensor. That being said, I still think that the comsol treated my stiffness matrix I input is...
Hello, I want to visualize the stress tensor in the cylindrical coordinate. Currently, I have the output from a 3D solid mechanical model. The expression I choose is solid.sx, solid.sy, solid.sz and etc. However, these are all plotted in the global coordinate. I want to visualize the result in...
It's a very basic problem in order to know how the stress distribute around the hole.
After the analysis, in the visualization, I created a cylindrical coordinate system in order to visualize the stress sigma_rr, sigma_tt.
In principal, the sigma_rr around the hole need to be zero because it’s...
