I have an application for a Auto ON/OFF valve where I have two options to choose from, Morin (Morin C-344UC-S080 ) or Bettis (Bettis G2012-SR4). I am trying to find which one is better and what experts have to say based on their experience in general.
Thanks
RJ
In specific, I am talking about compressor interstate SCRUBBER (or Knockout) vessels, which handle mixtures with very high gas-to-liquid ratios and have small amount of liquid collection.
Hello folks,
I am new to this area of designing pressure vessels. I want to learn/know the procedure to design a vertical separator vessel which sits upstream of every stage in a compressor. I know it depends on the gas velocity and resident time of the gas in the vessel, but I don't know how...
Thanks TD2K. I will try to find that paper, you mentioned. I am strictly looking at 2 phase separators...
Also thanks for the advise, I would have started a new thread to begin with... But its never too late...

Sir DliteE30, can you please help?
One more Question. Its about the orientation of a pulsation bottle on a cylinder. On all the reciprocating compressors I have seen, the suction bottle is arranged in such a way (looking from the top) that the length of the bottle is perpendicular to the piston rod of compressor. Based on the...
After reading your replies, I am probably going to try SW and Inventor before I make a decision. Thanks a lot for your replies.
Also, GregLocock: You said any of these 3 doesnt seem to suit my situation. What would you suggest then?
Hi,
I work for a fabrication company which makes compressor/pump packages. We have been using 2D autoCAD to layout the parts on the skid and to make engineering drawings of parts.
Now we are planning to advance to 3D CAD. But I am unable to decide between Inventor, Pro-E, Solidworks. I am...
Thanks for your reply. I totally agree with the part that I have a lot to learn. As you suggested, I will begin with Beta Machinery website and SWRI articles.
Also, on the other hand, the place where I started working recently have been packaging recips for a long time. They have pulsation on...
HI,
I am fairly new to packaging of reciprocating compressors. I am wondering, What size of compressor cylinders need pulsation bottles on them? I am talking about a 10.5" (to 13")bore first stage cylinder and smaller 2nd and 3rd stage cylinders. I have been looking all over the internet to...
Thanks fegenbush, metengr, EdStainless and lganga.
Based on what you guys said, I am confident that 150psi of water is harmless for the kind of testing we do. Now, I just have to convince our safety guy... now that will be a pain.
Hi,
We test water jacket cavity in our compressor cylinder heads for
their water holding capacity. We put in a water pressure of 150psi. I want to know, What is the maximum water pressure I can put and be able to stand safely next to it (while testing). In other works what is the maximum safe...
Thanks for your response, I guess I'd stick to your suggestion but, I got 20 to 30 different testing pressures. I am wondering if there is any other way (a auxiliary setup) of doing this...
But thanks anyway. I thot I would never get a response. :)
My shop is building a hydrostatic test bunker for pressure testing compressor cylinders. We are planning to install a high pressure pump (Brand: Haskel) for this purpose. As a safety regulation we need to have a pressure relief valve installed on the cylinder.
We test cylinders at pressures...
