    Measuring capacity of inner vessel

Ideally to the order of +/- 10 Litres if possible. The vessels should be fitted with a 95% Trycock line, so when filling , operator knows when to stop. However, not always very accurate, and as mentioned, don't want to fill with water .

    Measuring capacity of inner vessel

Hi Hoping someone can help me here. A customer of ours needs to know the capacity (ie total volume) of the inner vessels of two vacuum-insulated pressure vessels he has taken possession of . No documentation etc,, has asked if we can help. Unable to access the inner vessel for geometric...

    SPECIFIC VOLUME

Thanks everyone for your help, and Yes Stewpad, I did ask a question a couple of days ago re compressibility which I thought was unrelated, but now I'm not so sure. Will need to do some reading and thinking. Thanks again everyone.

    SPECIFIC VOLUME

I need to calculate the specific volume of nitrogen (in m3 / kg) of Nitrogen at different conditions of Pressure and temperature ( eg 424.7 kPa and 183 K). Thermodynamics is not my strongest area, but I have tried to calculate values as follows: Using gas law, From V = n R T /P : n...

    Compressibility factor Nitrogen

Can anyone please help me find the compressibility factor for Nitrogen at a temperature of 92 K, pressure 4.24 bar ? Thanks.

    cumulative fatigue

Hi, I am in the lengthy process of carrying-out the fatigue analysis of a transportable pressure vessel. I am using PD 5500:2003 as my guide. Have no problems so far in calculating the fatigue life associatiated with individual stress ranges. However, I dont understand the need for check...

    WRC 107 - EXTERNAL PRESSURE

Its a good question, but yes, space between inner and outer vessel will be under vacuum during lifting. I'll try WRC 297, and hopefully repad and lug sizes won't come-out too big, but realistically I expect they will be similar to WRC 107 results (ie large). Failing that I do have the option...

    WRC 107 - EXTERNAL PRESSURE

Thanks for that. Any suggestions as to how I might determine wether imposed stresses will result in buckling failure ? One further question if I may : Using 107, the required doubler and Lug dimensions I have calculated appear to be quite a lot larger than the dimensions of those I have...

    WRC 107 - EXTERNAL PRESSURE

Hi, Would appreciate some guidance re WRC 107 if possible ! I am designing lifting lugs and doubler pads to lift a vertical vacuum - insulated pressure vessel, with lugs sited near the top of the cylindrical shell, below juncture with semi-ellipsoidal dished end. My question is - Can WRC 107...
