ENGINEERING.com surveyed more than 350 product professionals about their teams’ success with new product introductions in general and with achieving new product quality targets in particular.
The results of this research should provide product design teams useful information to help them benchmark their results relative to other companies.
Here are a few insights that we gleaned from the survey data:
- There is a wide range of systems in use for managing quality in new product introductions, from none, to email and spreadsheets, to homegrown and purchased systems on-premise systems and in the cloud
- The choice of systems that teams use correlates highly with their success in launching new products with target quality levels
- Companies that have a purchased quality system for new product launches are more likely to be successful in reaching target quality
The data supporting these findings are presented in charts and graphics in this 25 page report.
