Is there a standard for gooseneck trailers over 30,000lb, similar to J2638 which is for <=30,000lb? I'm designing a 40,000lb trailer and wondering if there's a sister spec that I can't find. I can probably make J2638 work but wanted to check.

I don't see any standard for trailers beyond 30k, either. I suspect that at the time this standard was written, that was at or more than the limits of any pickup truck at the time. I don't know if the existing trailer manufacturers are doing anything differently beyond the limit of that standard, aside from making stuff even stronger where needed. The standard is voluntary.
