I've attached the photos for ease. It's a fabric used for absorption, and will draw in both oil and water. When burned it curls up and solidifies like a plastic. To the best of my knowledge it is used in at least one shipyard for major oil spills and it comes in rolls about three feet wide. I want to know what it's called to try and buy more, and every attempt to google or LLM has given no matches. Thank you for any potential tips, and I will gladly answer more questions as to its properties if needed.

Monarch textiles sells what they call oil absorbent felt. Might be close to what you're looking for.

It looks more like "cotton stockinette roll" to me or something very similar if you want identical stuff.

Does it feel like cotton?
