New MRI device to help save our lives

Hi all MRI field engineers - there is a new device out there for the MR room that I am really really struggling to get my bosses to insist we have installed at our sites - its an voice activated alert that could SAVE US if we are stuck to the magnet/ have a quench pipe fail. I need ideas to bring this to Government agencies, insurance companies, union reps. Most of my colleagues know about MRI room issues (that possibly do not get press exposure/get covered up). But this device, about the cost of an airbag, could save us. No one seems to care at my company so I want to take this to a higher level. Maybe MRI safety champs like Dr Kanal? Will also post on other forums to see if anyone has ideas/action plans - thanks!

Cute, but the scenario you describe is silly, since it implies that the worker explicitly ignored the requirement to have NOTHING magnetic on their person while in the room, that they bypassed the controls so that they're alone with the machine, and of course, that they didn't use the "buddy" system. Not to mention, a voice alert is nonsensical if there is no one on the controls. If you really wanted a safety feature, then have a panic button wired to the fail-safe and follow the rules.

MRI fields are moderate far less dangerous than the OP fears. The vendor of your MRI equipment hold classes on such matters.
