i have a question creating a configuration that uses the linear pattern command i can create the configuration no problem but when i change the configurations my linear pattern doesnt change anyone know a solution to this problem

Use two linear patterns. One in one conifig, on in the other config. Supress respectively to each configuration.

Linear pattern of a sketch or of a feature?

Make sure the pattern is UNsuppressed in both configs.

it is a linear pattern of a feature

That link is downloading a 0KB file.

Are you creating the config with a DT or manually?

i am creating it manually

When changing the pattern distance & quantity, are you selecting the This Configuration option?

I assumed manually which is why I suggested the method above. If you were using a dt then the case would be different. Go from one config to the other and I think that you will see that this is what you are trying to do.

Here is another link to the file. Mooload is screwy with our network settings.

yes, that really helped thanks

CorBlimeyLimey,

The reason I would use this method is because I have never found a way to vary the direction of a linear patern between configurations. You can vary the distance and instances between configs, but as far as I know there is now way to flip/change the direction. Enhancement request time. Am I right or am I missing something.

You are basically correct, but you could reverse the direction by dragging the free end of the sketch lines (that you used for the linear pattern direction) to the opposite side ... or by just clicking the "3D" direction arrows when editing the pattern.

but if I drag the free end of the sketch or click the 3d direction arrow it will apply this to both configs, hence the need for two different patterns.

Yeah, if you need different directions for different configs, you're right. ER time again.

If you dimension the "free" end, it can be set to flip between configs.
