Hi;
I am trying to model a simple rectangular plate (with three layers) using the advanced shell feature. What should the proe model be before I use the shell? (a solid or a surface?)... I tried the surface model but I am having "insufficiently constrained model errors" when I run it. This...
Hi;
I've had this 'not so simple for me' problem before and I had to go to mechanica independent mode and use a beam element with two link type elements (1D to 2D) and (1D to 3D).
Hi;
In my experience with Pro.mech I have not found a way to exclude singularities; other than adjusting the VM fringe plot scales to a lower range. If its a large displacements (non linear you can use the exclude elements option) but that's about it.
Now for the questions that I can help...
has anyone started playing around with the pre-prod. release of mechanica 4? I thought I could get a seal analysis done with contact elements in the advanced mechanica section.
From what I can see, it does not have the capability of doing a non-linear material analysis that includes contact...
I am not sure what your assembly looks like; but I often constraint 'radially' half of the hole (the one in contact with the pin). That and other techniques are describe in chapter 8 of 'Building better products with FEA'.
