    Two-Layer Bearing & Groundwater Influence

Hi All, We are currently trying to analyze two layer bearing resistance of a footing using the method listed in AASHTO LRFD 7th Ed C10.6.3.1.2f-1 and Meyerhof and Hanna (1980). The words in AASHTO say that for q2 the resistance is to be taken for a "fictitious footing of the same size and...

Depth of Ground Improvement (Remove and Replace) For Wall Bearing Capacity

Hey oldestguy, thanks for the reply - I have actually evaluated the wall for global stability, external stability and total/differential settlement. The only thing generating a CDR <1 is the bearing calc (per AASHTO LRFD), so we understand ground improvement is required to satisfy but are...

    Consolidation Rate

Oh I am trying to see if there is any justification for increasing the rate of settlement and wondering if there is some kind of soil merchanic rationale for it (ie insitu soils squeezing airvoids). I know there is the NAVFAC correlation for Cv, I'm not too familiar with the Schmertmann method...

    Consolidation Rate
