Load on Top Half of Beam Only

If I'm looking at the beam with the depth dimension facing me, I want to only load it from the centroid up. My case is a window above the beam and door below the beam. The plan checker wants me to check torsion on the top half (if doors are open so the bottom half of the beam gets no wind).

Load on Top Half of Beam Only

I have a plan check comment to check torsion on the upper half of a steel beam (I'm using an HSS section). Is there a way to model a load that acts uniformly across only a section of the beam? See attached PDF.

    Porch Knee Brace Calc

So I have a porch addition to an existing house that I want to put knee braces on (outer edge of the porch). I have half the seismic load (dead load*seismic response coefficient/2) going to that side of the porch which is about 1200 pounds. Should I be distributing that load into each knee...

No Axial Load in Bottom Space Truss Members

Thanks Josh! This is what I was looking for. I'll try it out on my larger overall structure and see how it works. Thanks again.

No Axial Load in Bottom Space Truss Members

Yes, those are the results I get. The thing is that I'm drawing this as a building block for a structure that is basically comprised of many of these into a large pyramid. Basically there are going to be five supports on each of the three sides at the base. If I release the X and Z direction...

No Axial Load in Bottom Space Truss Members

So here is the file originally with the pinned connections with restraints in all three directions. So right now, all of the three joints have reactions for all three directions. I changed one joint's X translation to fixed and a different joint's Y translation to fixed and tried to run it...

No Axial Load in Bottom Space Truss Members

I'm drawing a simple space truss (three almost equilateral triangle sides and a bottom side). I have the connections all pinned at the three bottom reactions. When I run it, my truss members on the bottom have zero axial force which I understand since my three bottom joints are pinned in all...
