Laser alternative to tape measures and calipers and verniers? - No not distance measurement

MCGYVR! THANK YOU! That's very close to what I'm looking for. SCANIFY and SENSE 3d - both look to wrk wonders. Plenty of Youtube videos on these technologies too.

Laser alternative to tape measures and calipers and verniers? - No not distance measurement

Many of you have asked about existing documentation. There is very little. this is another case of a small entrepreneur who developed a good line products and never actually documented in detail what he is making: everything with vendors was done with verbal discussion and a handshake. Patterns...

Laser alternative to tape measures and calipers and verniers? - No not distance measurement

Has anyone read of, used, or know of any laser hand-held measuring tools for benchmarking [a client's] water jet / laser cut piece parts, stampings, formed parts and fabricated subassemblies? I am looking for a digital or laser [or other] hand-held technology to replace my mechanical rules and...

Marman Clamp weld-on beads - weld size?

thread378-185811 Many Marman clamps are used with sealing beads that are formed onto the tubes they connect. But SOME use slip-on, beads that sleeve over the ubes. I cannot seem to dig up any guidelines fir weld size or quality for these slip-on Marman beads. Anybody have a suggestion on this...

    SAE hose material densities?

Anyone have a link they can share that provides the material densities for SAE 100R-series hydraulic hoses?

    Suction header design - construction?

Thank you, guys. Well, the client is going ahead with insisting I design-in these extensions down into the suction header. I cannot get them to even look at ANSI B30. Legacy.

    Suction header design - construction?

Here is a Danfoss case for gas distribution where they want 60-degree slopes on suction branches extending all the way into the header. Note that the return branches do not do this. From reading, it sounds like they WANT the accelerated velocities; and are also using the ends of the branches...

    Suction header design - construction?

Thank you all for confirming this: thank you for your immense help. Hey "stanier" - I am trying to convince my boss to buy that standard. WOW! $180. Even for the PDF copy! At least if I have to buy it myself I can deduct it on my taxes. Geez! Cheers from Hurricane Happy NC!

    Suction header design - construction?

Can anyone share whether or not the branch pipes welded into / onto a larger ID pipe header extend down into that header? I know that for COMPRESSIBLE flow, this is done with 60-degree angle cuts in the branch pipes extending inside the header; but is that done for INCOMPRESSIBLE flow too? My...

calculating horsepower consumed across parallel pipe

Really? So for - say - I don't know...15 psig across each of three paths with 10 GPM dividing equally - 3.33 GPM per path - then it's 10 GPM x 15 psig - just one of the delat-P values? PS: can you elaborate on the "constant" you mention?

calculating horsepower consumed across parallel pipe

I can't remember... ...For purposes of calculating horsepower consumed across parallel pipe paths, when flow is equally distributed across parallel paths of the same size, are the pressure drops across the individual runs additive I mean...do you find HP based on... HP = [Qtotal * (SUM...

multiple gage wires in single solderless terminals

Thank you Keith. I know I have something about this in my library - YERG! Can't find it. But I'll find out who the vendor is and see about Engineering Tech Data from them. Thank you! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

multiple gage wires in single solderless terminals

I can't believe this - I was just reading something on how to size terminals for more than one gage wire - and now that I need it, I can't locate it for the life of me! Can anyone remind me how to determine the proper [solderless] terminal size for coupling more than one gage wire in a single...

    Harness design practices - texts?

Thank you all for your valuable comments. My application is for off-road construction equipment. Our client(s) tend to retreat to historical company practices and it is often more costly to them and I find myself frustrated trying repeatedly to show them - in addition to what they specifically...
