Reduced volume in Lee Kesler EOS

My reasoning in not including the gas constant R was that if PV = RT and PcVc = RTc then by dividing the two equations one gets PrVr=Tr. But apparently, Vr is not defined the same way as Tr and Pr are.

Reduced volume in Lee Kesler EOS

I’ve been trying to implement the Lee-Kesler EOS in a spreadsheet but my results are inconsistent with tabulated values. The correlations are given in terms of the reduced volume Vr which I calculate as Vr=Tr/Pr. Is that correct?

Gas cooling in a pipe and pressure drop

Thank you for your replies. I must clarify something here: I was not talking about the pressure drop due to friction in the cooler but wondering if the cooling process itself could trigger a pressure drop. From an ideal gas point of view, if PV = nRT and T decreases, then P or V must decrease...

Gas cooling in a pipe and pressure drop

I’m working on a design in which a cooler is used to bring down the temperature of a gas in a pipe from 80C to 50C. Is that going to cause a significant pressure drop in the pipe?
