Thanks for the helpful reply, patdh1028.
Tangency notes aren't a bad idea. The current drawing I'm working on only has 1 point of "assumed" tangency that I could label. I agree with you though, labeling and dimensioning things that should be obvious certainly does clutter up a drawing. I...
I do have a copy of the book... that's why I said "I've been going through the standard and I haven't been able to find anything to address these questions." The Standard being the ASME Y14.5-2009 standard.
Hey Guys,
I'm still really terrible with GD&T but this is a problem I have run across numerous times.
Is it bad form to dimension to a radius centre point?
The reason I ask is because in a lot of programs you can foreshorten radius dimensions but you can't then foreshorten the linear...
I am currently in the process of designing a charge air cooler pipe for a class 8 truck and I need some advice on which finish to spec for the part.
The pipe it's self will be ASTM A787 Type 1 aluminized steel but it will be welded to a ASTM A513 steel fitting. Typically the aluminized steel...
Hey Guys,
I'm trying to learn how to generate Gcode and run machining sumulations in Catia. I'm just playing with a couple rough models at the moment but I'm having a bit of a hard time. For some reason whenever I try to run a simulation it get the error:
"[INFO]: Some points of the Tool...
What I would really like is a String Parameter with a Y or N and something like
If String.1 == Y
{Part.1 .Show = true}
else
{Part.1 .Show = false}
It would also be nice to be able to hide/show lines, points, exc with the same parameter.
Thanks
I have been having nothing but problems with the FOG laws. No matter what I do, I can't get the laws to work.
what I really want to do is to be able to use a Parameter, driven by a spreadsheet, to hide/show parts in the model. So far I have had no luck.
For starters, Catia doesn't seem to...
It's not already used in the assembly. It is an entirely new, completely different assembly that has had no prior contact with the assembly it's being added to... on top of that, none of the parts it's asking me to rename exist in the assembly being added.
Thanks Ferdo, I'll give it a shot.
The thing is, this is not a UUID problem, it's asking me to chance the actual part number of a whole list of parts that aren't even in the assembly I'm bringing in. When I hit "autorename" it just ads a period and a number to the file name.
Crazy Catia.
The thing is I have 1 assembly that I use over and over again and it has a lot of parts. I have no idea why there are conflicts but maybe a batch would work to change the names. I don't think it's the actual file names, I think it's the sub names or whatever you call them.
What is the UUID...
