If you don't have access to that function then I have another solution that works.
1. Open file
2. Go to Visualization Preferences -> Faceting Tab and check ON the option "Align Facets along Edges" and Hit OK. (see attached image)
4. Visually file should be fine now.
3. save file and close

Menu -> Assemblies -> Advanced -> Representations. Once there you have the options to Create/Delete representations.

I opened the part and deleted the internal facet body (actually there were 4 of them). I then recreated the internal facet and now the file is fine. (attached)

You can also import Raster Image in modeling side: View -> Visualization -> Raster Image
Then create you curves on the modeling side.
