I received request from a plant , for 2 bypass valves
on bolted bonnet class 600 gate valve. (12inch)
I am used to have bypass line (and valve) for equalizing
down and up stream pressure but is 2nd line necessary for bolted bonnet valve?
I believe this is a typical solution for pressure seal...
Thanks for input.
@EdStainless : I dont have this book and I guess it is not sold anymore. I could not also find it on web.
@georgeverghese : IT will be a new line so we have only these data.
Overall, I believe standart iron would be risky considering in such plants it is not easy
to control...
I know how to use search thanks. I was in some of these discussions.
However each application has different characteristics.
I searched a lot for cold %98 acid but could not find
solid proof - different sources contradict with each other.
Thats why open the thread.
Hi there,
a pump vendor proposing cast iron pump for sulfuric acid. (%98 at 40 deg. C ( 104 F)
gjl-200 = grey cast iron
I could not find any solid literature defending this. Only high-silicon cast irons looks
suitable.
Could I have your input?
Thanks to all input. This is regarding valve material selection.
I searched many literature and websites and have a great database.
Mostly it looks like Alloy20 would be fine. Pls. check the best doc I could find
from carpenter.
However I do agree the concern for higher and lower figures of
%...
For %80 sulfuric acid application, temperature is around
at max 43 deg. C , which material do you recommend?
I am stuck between Alloy 20 and Hastelloy C series.
Pressure : 1 bar , no impurities.
I am trying to prepare a paper based on C12A material use by valves.
Experienced ones can advice why casting this material is more tricky than
others. Or is i due to only high temperature use of this material?
Thanks. I know these sources. However pdf does not help me sizing the valve.
Each software is made acc. to vendors parameters thus someone else' software
wont help me either.
My question is more conceptual. About making an approach.
Beside product is capable of controlling - but to be...
I am selling products of a US vendor for rotary control valves.
I received an inquiry for geothermal power plant indicating dual phase flow
DESCRIPTION UNITS MINIMUM FLOW
MASS FLOW RATE (2Ø+NCG) tph 106.5
MASS FLOW RATE (STEAM)...
Dear All,
Could you share your experiences for pressurized ammonia sphere connection line
isolation valves? Which type is better? Ball will be cheaper but sealing can be an issue
after cycles.
Ammonia Gas Sphere
Design Pressure : 17,23 Bar g. (250Psig)
Design Temp ...
thanks for input.
It is phosphoric acid plant , process water.
temp is max 50 deg. C but content of p.w. is not given.
I was trying to judge depending on corrosion rates of 904L
Check valves were required with 904L but hard to supply.
For acidic applications, 904L is required but it is hard to source.
What can be the alternative material considering corrossion resistance?
Thanks in advance for comments.
Thanks to you all, I appreciate all input.
I am totally aware of the parameters that can affect the comparison
in time however I am just looking to receive comments from different
parts to prepare a guide for myself. However no one wanted to give figures.
I believe it starts with having a design in compliance with Euro Chlor recommendations
which has very strict regulations for casting quality, design, etc.
