Folks, there is a cure for all this angst;
Step 1: put in an enhancement request, as suggested
Step 2: take a deep breath
Step 3: Switch to CATIA V5 for a year or two
Step 4: Switch to Solidworks
Now your software will be far, far cheaper, less buggy, with great support and far easier...
I'd like to add a button to turn the PDMWorks addin on and off so we can share licenses better...I have code that works fine for this on my box but I must make it universal. Looks like there are several places that the addin .dll could be located, especially with XP64 boxes. How can I find...

Might be too late for you...we are also checking out Keytech. We played with Conisio (now PDMWorks Enterprise) but when D'assault bought them they abandoned their proposed CATIA integration. We played with SmarTeam but it seems very difficult to set up and seems clunky and buggy...
I've had my Dell Precision 690 w/Quadro FX 4500 for about 6 months or so running XP64. If you are exceeding the 1.2gb limit it's a great choice. If you are exceeding the 3gb limit it's an no-brainer.
Stability is excellent, even while opening huge assembly files in CATIA V5 and exporting out...
Some days ya gotta go against the flow...even if sbaugh is on the other side.
I've done a lot of these both ways for many years. I started off with the GO 3D OR GO HOME attitude but experience has taught me that sometimes it's best to use those Autocad skills I painfully acquired so long ago...
In this case, folks, bet you dimes to donuts that "different cad systems" is just a nice scapegoat. Sure, V4 is completed outdated and it's sure difficult to import models into, but the reality is that this is a total management failure. If a failure on your part will result in a two year...
Don't know about those old models...but if you have to upgrade:
SpaceExplorer seems to work just fine on my XP64 box. No stability issues even with enormous models.
Using the cute little SpaceNavigator with my 32bit laptop and it actually works great. Perfect for anyone who doesn't actually...
Thanks for all the helpful comments and ideas. I will try and respond to cover the questions people had.
1. I have assumed that the 3gb switch is unnecessary in xp64 and have done nothing to try and set it.
2. CorBlimeyLimey correctly notes that it is silly to have XP64 and only 2gb...
I've had XP64 on my system for a couple months now.
SW2006 32 and 64 bit versions
SP 4.0 and 4.1 respectively
Quadro FX1400 with driver 81.67
Dual core atholon 4400 2.1ghz, 2gb ram
Homebuilt box
Have had frequent problems running SW. SW64 bit is very flakey and likes to crash without an error...
The Tick:
Thanks for your response, I'll do some more exploration of these things.
Sorry about my delayed response -- missed 10 days due to creepin' crud.
Rob
Thanks, The Tick
Unregistering with regsvr32 does indeed unregister it but it leaves the add-in listed in the add-in list. If you are developing, soon you have a bunch of add-ins with the same name.
What does seem to work nicely is a batch command that calls the unregister dll tool that I...
Alright you SW API experts here's one I have not seen anywhere in the posts.
I'm developing a company toolbar, and am almost done. One problem: each time I develop a new .dll it keeps the old reference in the Add-in. So my add-in appears 10x in the SW add-in list. Not really a problem on my...
