Before start with refile_part, you have to setup your Customer Default (Tolerance, LOD, etc) to have your "JT/Lightweight" created with your own parameters.

"Shape Search" is far far more difficult to install & setup than simply setting a couple of env variables.
Did you installed Geolus Search before?

Very often long computation time on View Update is linked to the fact that the assembly is not very good as quality.
Suggestions:
1) Refile all your part to the correct NX version
2) Part Cleanup on every 3D parts (or at least on the assembly and drawing files).

Scenario:
- TC2007.1.8
- Pro/E WF4 and V5R18 (for each WF/V5 dataset a JT is created in TC)
- NX7 (NX7.5 as soon as there will be TC8.1)
3D migration Pipeline will be JT (V9): very good and ready to use.
We've tons of 2D from WF/V5 to migrate to NX.
