When I saw "CIP", the first thing I thought was "Common Industrial Protocol", which is how Devicenet, Controlnet, and Ethernet/IP communicate. Devicenet, Modbus, ETC. ???
"All buses have Dip switch settings on any device in field for addressing." This is going to be device dependent for most buses. While many Devicenet devices follow this practice some don't and it is not a requirement. I don't think any scanners do but this is more of a nice feature for the...- TWControls

I left out a detail in the destination assignment that is probably causing the problem. When you say a 100 element string I'm guessing your setup a tag with a name, for example, of MyString with a datatype of STRING[100]. If so then the destination should be MyString[0].DATA[0] Set your path...- TWControls
