    The current trend for WorkSafe WA is yes, the design must be registered, (Hazard Level A,B,C,D) The individual Item to be registered must have the "U" stamp. This is to ensure the quality control ASME specifies has been carried out.

    UT of inservice welds

    It's been a while since I have ut'd any welds but have never heard of doing shear wave inspections of welds through paint! The paint must always be removed at least the standoff distance for that angled probe.

    plastcc, be aware that hanging from a harness is only intended to be short term duration, the tripod sysytem must be used with a 'bosuns chair'. This will allow the bloodflow to the legs to continue.

    Strange advice gr2vessels, we are currently having problems accepting ASME vessels here in Australia as they dont always comply with AS1210, and vessels that do may need a welder to come from USA to repair them, very hard to find a welder here that is qualified to weld to ASME.

    Keep razor blades sharp

    Proper usage is important, try leaving the blade up when finished, that way moisture will run away from edge, not onto it in drop form
