Thank you all for your help.
3DDave, I had seen the youtube video you referred to. That does show kind of what I need to know to create what Solidworks refers to as "mapping". It's just so convoluted a way of doing it, to be honest, I just don't really get it. I've been playing around with...
Hello.
I'd like to create a DXF file for a CNC router operation. The part is a flat part (MDO board) with numerous cut outs. However there
are some areas that are not cut all the way through, having a depth of cut of .200". The vendor requests a DXF file
with 2 layers, one for the basic...
I'm looking to install an AntiVirus program that is compatible with SW. I was using AVG
but ran into some support issues. I had then tried
Bitfender. SW was experiencing 5 second freeze ups during use so I uninstalled that. I then became
aware of an approved list on the SW site. So I'm...
thanks, once again. I went to tools>sketch settings> shaded sketch contours.... and was able to turn off that
option by clicking on that. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, appreciate it.
Just installed 2017. While in sketch mode if I draw a circle, the shape fills in with grey color.
I'd like it to just show the outside line of the circle shape with no fill color. Is there a preference to turn off
that fill color. Thanks.
Maybe it was Instant 3-D....When activated, seems to do what I remember.
Just don't ever remember ever having it activated previously.
thanks for the help.
I seem to remember you did not necessarily need to be in active sketch.
If you had sketches showing (not hidden) and you clicked on an end point of a
line, say.... you could move that line. When I upgraded last year to 2016, I seem
to have lost this feature... but wondering if there was a...
I used to be able to drag (adjust) a line in a sketch while not in an active sketch. (not referring to instant 2-D)
Anyone know of the preference that needs to be turned on to activate and allow that feature.
Using 2016 sp 4.
Thanks much.
Thank you for the suggestions and follow up. I've been reading up on the GDi objects limit and am
thinking maybe those limitations and/or settings may play a part in the freezing i'm experiencing.
Yesterday I changed two settings from 2700 objects to 20,000 (under the 65000 maximum permitted)...
For about 6 months SWx has, at various times, been freezing during use. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason as
to when it will happen. I could be in part mode or assembly mode. For instance, I'll click on the button to complete
an extrude and the program will just freeze. The next step...
I had looked into buying a new monitor a while back and I'm finally getting around to doing it.
Are there any opinions about how these two compare.... the U2412 is 1900 x 1200 16:10 and the
U2414 is 1900 X 1080, 16:9.
I have a feeling the U2412 might be better for using SW, but just want to see...
Thanks, Scott. Just a follow up.... I did update the video card driver... but still
have the freezing issue. This really has me baffled and it's really a PITA. Next step is
to try and record the problem using the Rx Video capture. Will follow up if I discover anything
else.
