I can only answer on the Watercut meter issue. My experience with Roxar Watercut meter has been well above our initial expectation. This meter is amazing and will give you entire satisfaction. It is also very accurate and stable with time.

Why don't you use a sand detector like the ones manufactured by Roxar ?(www.roxar.com)
You can then real time optimise your sand free production rate. This is a clamp on device which is quite handy.

Thank you for your hint but Roxar Water cut meter is not appropriate for the job. The salinity detection system is just an indicator and not a quantitatif measurement.
