Satellite structure protection against space radiation

Thanks for your answer, but in certain cases it is not possible to harden all the electronics from all the corners. I think you already know that the radiations comes from all of the possible angles due to the rotations of the satellite. So I think that a minimum aluminium thikness is required...

Satellite structure protection against space radiation

Hi, did anyone have an idea on wich criteria to rely for choosing the thickness of an aluminium structure to protect the satellite subsystems from space radiations. Thanks

    Satellite structure too stiff

You're right I tought to remove a certain amount of material and replace it with ribs or even use isogrid technique.

    Satellite structure too stiff

Hi in fact this is one possibility, but I do not know if it is enough to damp the structure. and to test the satellite continuously will dammage (fatigue) the structure. I do not know if ribs in the structure could help. Thanks

    Satellite structure too stiff

Hi there, I have performed a sinusoidal vibration test on a shaker(5-2000 Hz) on a cubic aluminium alloy structure. The first resonance was about 510 Hz wich is good for the satellite but the test stopped because the structure was too stiff and the amplification factor was about 90 g. The...
