Thank guys. Nbuska, I agree, HDD is becoming very integrated and dense, but very cheap and poorly made. But the fact is that most people are daily loosing valuable data on which you can not put a price tag. The isuue as you know is not the HDD, but the data specially on laptops and standalone...

HDD REPAIR & RECOVERY OF ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS

itsmoked, Thanks for your response. A clean room I may not be able to afford immediately, but I hear we could make do with an 'clean box'. with insert for technician hands and tools. problem is I do not have details of how this can be constructed, or where to obtain ready made ones. I recently...

Bidding Lump Sum Civil Engineering Job

I missed it! For designs, experience on previous works, i.e. man hours, leg work, and over heads are the inputs. in most cases this add-up to a percentage ranging between 2.5%-10% of the actual construction cost. For a design job change orders are rarely expected for it is an indication that...

Bidding Lump Sum Civil Engineering Job

Is 16M the budget limit? Why not break down the entire project into different disciplines e.g. civil, mechanical, electrical, landscaping etc. Having done that u may request for quotations from a minimum of three experienced contractors per discipline. Then you compare their figures, take the...

Hi-pot Test Voltage for new busbar added to old 11kV Board

We are on the same point, but differ on our approach to safety! If u were installing this for others to operate and maintain safety might be an issue which u may choose not to attend to. But if you were to operate and maintain this system then safety will be an undelying principle right from...

Hi-pot Test Voltage for new busbar added to old 11kV Board

from Ausphil: "providing the minimum level is above the expected highest voltages seen on the system (be them overvoltages at power frequency, or switching or lightning impulses " That's the determining factor, and it applies to the old and new hardware. In other words can the old cloth...

Hi-pot Test Voltage for new busbar added to old 11kV Board

This looks like patching an old garment with new cloth,or better still putting new wine in old wine skins. The concern here should be safety first! What voltage levels do we expect when a fault occurs? would it be okay if the whole systems fails becos the insulation level was not uniform...

    strange voltage behaviour

Does this voltage drop occur only when the generator is loaded? I will suggest you run the generator without any load connected, and observe if the voltage drops.
