Hello,
I were going through Electromechanical actuator document which is driven by DC Motor with Compound spur gear train.
But the system demands self locking feature after actuator reach 90deg rotation.My Question is there any possibilities of self locking with compound spur gear train...
Hi,
I am designing Fire shutoff valve used in aircraft.
I come across "AGE00003 guideline" which is used for designing the Valve.
Would request experts here to throw light about what "AGE00003 guideline" document contains.
Thanks in advance
John
Hi,
Thanks very much Itascot & gerhardI
and I am sorry for delay reply as I was on vaccation for two weeks
gerhardI,
Size : 0.875"
Fluid: Ether poly propelene(Red oil)
The purpose of this analysis is I am developing Actuator to open & close the valve using DC Motor. So I need to find out...
Industrial expert's opinion is maximum torque required to actuate ball valve is
"Torque ability to open under large differential pressure and to close under high flow conditions "
My objective is to determine Actuation torque Vs Pressure drop curve (through digital prototyping) using CFD...

Wintechcad,
To find out max torque requirement to actuate the ball is completely iterative process.I have done these calculation by considereing max breakaway toraue can be expected when the valve is in closed condition.Its power loss due to friction between kinematic elements like Ball &...
Hello,
I am estimatning theorotical torque for Ball valve actuation.Is there any empirical formula exists to find out max pressure during closing of the ball.
Is follwoing formula can be used to find drop
Delt P= density of fluid*Speed of sound in fluid*Velocity of fluid/gravitational force...
bcd & JimCasey
Thanks for your valuable posts.
according to bcd,working on contact stress requirement using following empirical formula
fc=Sqrt of (P*E/2.88*As)
where
P= Radial load
E=Youngs modulus
As = Contact surface area
Once i finish will get back to you
Thanks once again
John
Hi,
how much seating force required to control leakage for following requirements.
Allowable leakage when closed condition is 0.5cc/min.
The seating material used is Teflon
Operating pressure is 60psig
Differential pressure when closed condition is 70psid
Earlier i were trying with yeild...
Hello,
Would like to know whether the following analytical ventury design approach is correct or Incorrect to find Coefficient of discharge.
Following are the available design data to find Cd
1.Geometry of flow path is defined (throat dia
Diametrical ratio "Beta")
2.Upward flow data is...
