Hey thanks fab3. I will try that and see what happens. Maybe raise the focus about .08" above..and get rid if the M69..(It is a normal pulse mode command)..Do you think G87P00 should be raised as well? Maybe like G87P15 or something?
I am trying to cut 5/8" mild steel with a 2000 watt mazak...I keep leaving dross on the bottom and like welding it back together. If I increase the air I get a wide curf on the top. Here is my cut peramiter I am using..

I have been running our laser for awhile now but have only had 1.5mm tips to work with. I have always been at the mercy of the purchasing agent.. I recently found all these tips out there..They have cold formed, Broad Chromed, and a wide range of sizes. I have drilled out my 1.5mm for cutting...
Does anyone know how .01 alloy 200 nickel will cut. I need to guess at the feed rate. I have a Mazak stx 48. 1500 watt laser. If you have cut conditions that wouls really help.
Thanks
Thanks for all the input. I have always done my etching first then cut. Maybe I am looking for to much in my etch. How good does it get? Can you get etches to have a constant depth? Is it comon for the nozzel to plug up? Oh this is all mild steel I am playing with. No need for Nitro.
I am having problem etching any steel. In some spots it seams fine in others it blows through and in others you can't even see it. Here is what I am using. I have a 1500 watt Mazak stx48 with a 5" head and 1.5 tip. Any help would be great....!!!! Thanks
