Thanks alot inthevalley. What do you think about this:
1. Thermal newsletter- illustrating the goals for this function and ways to help product development
2. Interview middle and upper management on the goals they would like to see met from a thermal standpoint.\
3. I like your training...
Many times we make product decisions on the junction temperature. As you know, the reliability hangs on this number. Our products must be reliable. That is why I think it should be accurate.
I would like to get some suggestions from those of you that are in charge of a heat transfer group or perhaps you are a lone wolf...
in my situation, I am a lone wolf. Prior to this, I performed alot of project work with bits and pieces of thermal work. Now due to the uptick of thermal answers...
Thanks for all that answered my questions...but I am still at a loss to accurately estimate junction temperature... are there any papers you may be aware of to do this in tandem with a CFD package? I read some info on the DELPHI models but its not easy to boil it down and use it if you are not...
If you dont have any thermal information on a chip and need to estimate the temperature of the junction, how would you do this? Also, I dont have any dimensions of the die or any internal chip info. What I have been doing is estimating a combined thermal conductivity representing the chip and...
I am trying to estimate the thermal conductivity of a pc board. It has 6 copper layers and it approximately 0.06 thick. I have used the "harmonic conductivity" equations and have received varied results. When I need accuracy, that method doesnt always give it to me. I have been calculating...
