    Load Case A & B, ASCE 7-05 Figure 6-18A

I am designing a lean-to roof (no walls) against an existing metal building to cover equipment that serves the existing building. Figure 6-18A in ASCE 7-05 provides windward & leeward coefficients for calculating wind pressure(s), but the Load Cases A&B are not illustrated or defined for open...

CMU Filled Opening in Existing Concrete Wall

I am filling an opening (26' wide x 16' high) in an existing 12" solid concrete wall (not tilt-up) with 12" CMU in a running bond pattern. The opening is currently installed with a folding (4 leaf) metal door that operates much like a closet bifold door. The metal door is a corrosion headache...

    Pole Base Plate

    Anchorage for Roof Mounted AHU

Thanks to all for the inputs. At present, I have had little luck in finding a generally accepted document which specifically addresses this issue. Apparantly, the practice of merely resting a curb on a flat roof, with little more than a token screw or two, has been around since Noah built the...

    Anchorage for Roof Mounted AHU

Is there a guideline that addresses the requirements for anchoring large Air Handling Units for windload to flat roofs? ASCE 7-02 has yeilded little specific info that gives good insight to this issue. Most AHU vendors provide sparse details regarding my main concern; that being a clear load...
