A STEP file is just a text file. You'll need a 3rd party tool to wrap encryption around it (ie. ZIP, etc). There's also steganography but that's more about hiding a file.

I'd also look at similar designs for reference when determining an approach. The first example I think of is a locomotive rail. They use a flanged wheel so no need for a lateral wheel. This is similar to the DualVee product referenced earlier where the V design provides your lateral alignment...

Sounds like you are saying you would lift the entire pile and drop a single beam at a time. This sounds like a very challenging approach. Not unachievable with the right infrastructure, but maybe not the path of least resistance.
Edit: assuming you could lift from the ends exclusively, I can...

I'm not the best at communication so I'll admit I'm not sure how I would handle this. But have you directly tried to communicate to him how his tirades make you feel? Or maybe just ask him to be more respectful of your opinions? That's definitely out of my nature so not sure how that plays...
Well how about that. Who in the world laid out that dialog box. The whole left side has to do with the text display (font, precision, fractions, zeroes, units...) and the right side is about the lines & arrows. But there's that one leader item over there and of course I overlooked it...
I finally decided to go looking for a way to change the length of the dimension line extension in SW2017 (shown in attached image). Not sure if this is a default or something that got set in-house somewhere along the way, but I want to shorten it. Been manually dragging the handle for way too...
